BRIEF

To create illustrations for the gift packaging of six beauty sets. The primary goal is to convey a luxurious European Christmas atmosphere, the beautiful life concept of "l'art de vivre", and the French glamour and refinement.
Target audience
Women aged 20 to 50, residents of cities with populations of one million or more, who actively seek products that offer good "price/quality" value, while placing their trust in well-known and professional brands.
Color concept
Black-and-white scale with one accent color. The accent color must match the color scheme of the corresponding beauty set. Highlight the heroines' hair in a separate color.

Development

Together with the agency team, we created a mood board and packaging concept to determine whether the idea we had proposed was in line with the client's vision.

The mood board played a crucial role in reaching a consensus with the client on the key visual elements for the upcoming project. The design concept was developed to provide the client with a clear understanding of the packaging's overall appearance and the arrangement of its main elements. After finalizing the concept with the agency and receiving approval from the client, I commenced the illustration process.

COVER ILLUSTRATIONS

The images represent the brand's core values, characterized by the keywords: modernity, elegance, French glamour, and hairdressing. We collaborated closely with the client to carefully select the most suitable images for each character.

First of all, the illustrations were created for gift packages of hair care products, so we focused on highlighting the heroines' hairstyles. It was also important to create vibrant images of modern, stylish women, so we paid special attention to the characters' outfits. The designs of renowned fashion brands such as Dolce & Gabbana and Mugler inspired the heroines' attire.
The backgrounds each have a theme reflecting the concept of a beautiful life: restaurant, boutique, beauty salon, hotel, patisserie, and gallery of Christmas gifts. To capture the essence of Paris, we drew inspiration from the facades of popular Parisian cafes and boutiques.

We worked extensively with references. I compiled a selection of references for the costumes and poses of each character so that the client could choose the images they needed. Additionally, I curated a selection of references for architecture, surroundings, and decor to create the most convincing and vivid illustrations for the package covers.

SIDE OF THE PACKAGE

The goal for the pattern on the package's sides was to encompass three main elements: the Christmas ambiance, recognizable symbols and landmarks of Paris, and attributes of hair care.

Furthermore, the pattern was intended to exude elegance and evoke the feeling of gift wrapping. We successfully achieved both goals.
